cancer. As I read her story, I thought what’s next? Locusts!? This brave lady

gives new meaning to the words courage & “hutzpah!” She went on to become a

stand up comedian, no kidding. Today she also travels as a motivational

speaker & works with disabled and underprivileged children. Let her story

touch your heart & your funny bone!

Nothing to fall back on . . . Betsey Carter

Another terrific book that reads like “The Perils of Pauline” is

this memoir by Betsey Carter. Self-pity is not in her vocabulary, laughter

and fortitude ARE. I think that’s what separates the victors from the

victims. After reading her story, you will too.

Ten things i learned from bill porter . . .

                                        Shelly Brady

The TNT movie “Door To Door” told the wonderful story of Bill

Porter. Bill was born with cerebral palsy. When no one would hire him he took

the only job he could get. Going door to door selling household products. His

crippled body climbed the hills of Portland, Oregon. The more doors that were

slammed in his face the harder he worked. He went on to win awards for

breaking sales records.

Every morning now I think of Bill. I see that wonderful grin on his

face, and how he would never even think of giving up. Each day was a new

challenge. It was a new adventure to be explored & LIVED! Since Bill came

into my life I get up a little earlier and that smile on my face becomes so

wide just thinking of him that my face hurts. Bill’s motto was “Patience &

Perserverence.” He never gave up and after  seeing the movie, or reading this

book by Shelly Brady  neither will you.

AMONG THE HEROES  . . .  Jere Longman

Meet the passengers on Flight #93. THEY brought down that plane outside

of Pittsburgh. These are the HEROES who were “born” on 9/11. This is their

story. This is their TRIBUTE. They were  A+ personalities who were committed

to their goals, their families, and to life.  They let the hijackers know

they picked the wrong plane, the wrong country, & the wrong people. Meet each

one up close and personal. Take this journey with them.

        Jonathon Livingston Seagull . . .

                                Richard Bach

This book was published years ago. However, if you’ve never met or

learned the lessons that Jonathon teaches ~ NOW’S THE TIME! Don’t just

read  the words, “LIVE” the message!
